When Diyanet’s plans to expand its sauna facilities in India have been rejected by the Indian government, the company said it will instead set up a “super sauna” in Mumbai.
The company will hire about 1,000 people and open the facility on January 18, 2020.
“We are planning to establish a super sauna facility in Mumbai,” a spokesperson for Diy told CBS News.
This is a new concept for Diyanat, which has already started working on a new indoor sauna in Hyderabad.
The company has also said it is “in discussions” with the government on building its first outdoor sauna on the outskirts of New Delhi.
However, a spokesperson said Diy will be “committed to work with the Indian Government on the expansion of the sauna, to facilitate more use of the facility.”
“The sauna will be operated on an indoor basis, so it will have a different structure and a different atmosphere from the indoor saunashas that are already operating in Mumbai, and will have access to fresh water from the river,” he said.
Diyanat also said the saunabots would not be “bought and sold.”
The spokesperson added that the company has yet to finalize the deal for the building.
“The project will be approved by the relevant authorities, and a contract will be signed for the completion of the project,” he added.
